“ The Victor vintage key” 「1880年代製造の縦ふりキー」

I am not a collector of CW hand keys but I often look at the web sites showing hand key collections. There are lots of American hams who collect these keys and I am amazed that lots of keys have been designed and produced by American companies including military applications.

かなり以前ですが、オンタリオ州のハムの方から、縦ふり電鍵を3台譲っていただき、そのうち1台がとても古い物と思いましたが、名前もわからず、そのままにしておきました。

このVictor キーは1880年代に作られ、特徴としてはknife edge pivot つまり手を置くハンドル部はベアリングやピンなどでベースに止められてなく、フック（カギ）の形をしたところにハンドルを止め、キーとして機能し、この方法は1880年代のデザインとしてはすぐ思いついたものと考えます。 このキーはゆうに100年以上古いものです。 いまも、時々送信機につなぎ、大事に使っています。
